Digimon Zodiac: Xanthia and Morgana

Okay, this will be the last one of these profiles for now.

Here is Xanthia and her Muninmon partner, Morgana.

Personality:
Xanthia is withdrawn and not very social, often perceived as a loner or an “emo”. She’s often on her own and has long since stopped making attempts to make friends due to so much bullying and misjudgement over the years. Although it may seem like she has some confidence, she often questions herself and what she’s really capable of.

When she does find herself in a situation where she does need to talk to new people, she appears distant and unfriendly. She doesn’t say much about herself beyond her name and age, so she’s seen by some as an enigma. Her seemingly unfriendly demeanour keeps people away from her and that’s what she wants. She dislikes conflict and confrontations as well.

Xanthia’s passion in life is her art. She expresses her thoughts and feelings through many different mediums, including digital, though she prefers paints, watercolours and inks. She writes a lot as well, usually short stories and poems. She’s very protective of her works and only shows them off to Morgana. Though, Morgana has never read any of Xanthia’s writings.

The only one who ever experiences the warmer side of Xanthia’s personality is Morgana. To her, Xanthia is kind and in no way distant and uncaring. Morgana is the one person (well, Digimon) that she can really express her true feelings about almost anything and everything to.

Family:
Xanthia is an only child who lives with her parents in their large home in a more “wealthy” suburb. Her parents, both doctors, lead rather busy lives and aren’t home much and don’t get a lot of time off. Xanthia ends up having a lot of time to herself and Morgana.

Background:
As soon as they were able, Xanthia’s parents left young Xanthia in the care of a baby-sitter as often as they could. As a result, Xanthia never saw too much of her parents growing up, but never really wanted to associate much with the baby-sitter. She kept to herself, mostly in her room, reading about many different things, one of her favourite subjects being animals. Birds, like crows, ravens and corvids in general, were very much a favourite.

When she started going to school, things were not looking up for Xanthia. At first, like most children, she looked forward to making new friends. But, she ended up being the subject of much teasing. Her strange love of things like snakes, worms, snails and various other “creepy” things didn’t make her a very desirable friend to the girls and being a girl meant that the boys didn’t want anything to do with her. Xanthia didn’t understand what she did wrong.

As she grew older, Xanthia became more withdrawn and lonely. She eventually gave up on trying to make new friends and simply tried to endure the bullying she got for being “weird”.

In her first year of high school, when Xanthia was twelve, Morgana appeared to her as a Karamon. She found it odd that this strange little chick creature was talking to her, but she felt like she was finally talking to someone who wasn’t going to judge her and criticise her for being who she was. Xanthia would later find a D-Astral on her desk when she got home that day.

Random Facts:
~ Despite her love for animals, Xanthia has never owned a pet. That’s because her parents, even though they aren’t home a lot, don’t want any animals in the house.
~ Apart from corvids and birds in general, Xanthia’s very favourite animals include snakes, snails, slugs, cats and skunks.
~ Animals feature a lot in her artworks.
~ Since she got out of high school, she takes online courses. She has a hard time with jobs though. She’s had a couple of jobs in the past, but she ended up quitting due to getting stressed out and panicked about having to deal with people.
~ She has expressed that she’d like her art to be her career on a few occasions, but she doesn’t have faith in people liking her work.
~ She can be morbid at times.
~ She and Morgana have little places in the human world and in the Digital World where they go to get away from everything.
~ She likes to go for long walks sometimes, with Morgana following.

Name Origin: Huginn and Muninn were two ravens that travelled the world, Midgard, to deliver information to the god Odin in Norse myth.
Attacks:
- Blackmail: Morgana takes to the air and spins with her wings outstretched to create a whirling twister of shadows and winds around her. She is able to control the path of the twister for as long as she remains inside it.

- Shadow's Memory: Morgana's eyes glow as she screeches loudly. Shadowy claws emerge from the ground which grab and claw the opponent, particularly aiming for their head.

Personality:
Morgana isn’t much like her Tamer, being talkative and cheerful. She can be a bit excitable and loves to play with Xanthia. She often tries to encourage Xanthia to be more confident in other people and make some friends, but this always fails, much to her dismay.
Like others of her species, Morgana has a fantastic memory. She can remember almost all of her life and the events that happened (no matter how good or bad). But she constantly feels like she’s forgetting something very important and has done for all of her life. She’s never any closer to finding out what it is.

As a battler, Morgana is more on the offensive. She’s also capable of using her moves as defensive manoeuvres. She tries to stay airborne, as she isn’t very fast on ground, but her wings do tire easily.

Random Facts:
~ When with the group, Morgana ends up doing a lot of the talking for Xanthia.
~ Morgana was the one that showed Xanthia a little secret place in the Digital World that no one else seemed to know about. She says the place felt familiar to her when she first found it, but she doesn’t know why.
~ Sometimes she’ll go off on her own, letting Xanthia know, of course. She likes to go to the park and observe people. People think that she’s just a big raven, so no one really pays much attention to her.
~ She likes to watch Xanthia work on her art and even tries to do a bit of art herself. She’s still trying to figure out how to do it though, since she can’t hold brushes, pencils, pens or anything like that well enough to use them properly.
~ She is terrified of spiders. Whenever she sees one, she screeches loudly. Xanthia has to get rid of them for her.
